Blake Carrick 12th at Lucas Oil Speedway after Wild Ride at Valley Speedway

- Blake Carrick continues to run a Keith Kunz Motorsports Midget with the Lucas Oil POWRi series, and over the weekend the Lincoln, CA native would finish 12th on Saturday night following a tough roll over on Friday.

“It was a fun weekend and I learned a ton,” Blake Carrick said. “Unfortunately we flipped running fourth on Friday but the guys got it back together and we were able to get more laps on Saturday night.”

Carrick kicked his weekend off in Grain Valley, MO on Friday night where he lined the Walker Performance Filtration/TRD/Spike Chassis entry up on the front row of his heat race.

Racing his way to the win, Carrick would move into the feature event where he would take the green flag from the sixth starting position. Getting off to a nice start, the youngster would quickly work up into the Top-Five where he would find himself running against a start studded top-five.

Continuing to work and look for away onto the podium, Carrick would make a mistake that resulted in him getting his machine upside down and ultimately ending his night.

With his crew working to get his machine repaired and put back together, Carrick would try again on Saturday night at the Lucas Oil POWRi Series traveled to Wheatland, MO to take to the Lucas Oil Speedway.

Looking to build off the positives from Friday night, Carrick would find himself in the fourth row of his heat race. When the green flag waived, Carrick jumped on the throttle and began earning passing points as he worked his way forward.

Racing his way to a fourth place finish, Carrick would again transfer into the feature event where he would take the green flag from the fifth row on the starting grid.

Battling for position inside the Top-10 for much of the race, Carrick would find himself battling with Jonathan Beason and Andrew Felker. Falling out of the Top-10, Carrick would close his weekend out with a 12th place finish.

“After getting two more races in with the KKM guys, I am really looking forward to this weekend,” Blake Carrick added. “I really have to thank Keith Kunz and his team for this incredible opportunity.”

Blake Carrick and the Keith Kunz Motorsports team would like to thank Walker Performance Filtration, TRD, and Spike Chassis for their support.
