Blake Carrick 12th at Placerville Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA: Getting back to 360ci racing over the weekend, Blake Carrick would work his way forward to score a 12th place finish on Saturday night at Placerville Speedway, one night after seeing his night get cut short at Silver Dollar Speedway.

“We had good speed again during both nights, but the driver made a couple of costly mistakes,” Blake Carrick said. “Friday I got off the edge and got into the wall ending our night, and on Saturday I tripped on the cushion and fell out of the top-10 late in the race.”

Saturday night at Placerville Speedway, Blake Carrick would hit the track 22nd out of 22 cars during qualifications and would manage to time the CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil No. 38B entry in 16th fastest.

Missing out on the heat race inversion, the Lincoln, CA driver would finish eighth in his heat race and find himself mired deep in the field in the feature event as he rolled off the starting grid from the 18th position.

Following some quick track work prior to the feature event, Carrick would like the changes to the surface as he would patiently carve his way through dense traffic. Scattered yellows led to double-file restarts, and Carrick would capitalize on those as he cracked the Top-10 and actually worked his way into the eighth position during the 25-lap feature.

Continuing to pound the cushion during the closing laps, Carrick would hang his right rear over the edge of the speedway, and it would force him to check up and give up a few spots.

Getting his entry gathered back up, Carrick would close the night out with a 12th place finish.

Friday night in Chico, CA, Carrick would lay down a great lap in time trials that saw him end up eighth on the speed chart. Racing to a second place finish in his heat race, ‘BOB’ would grid the field from the 11th starting position.

On a racy Silver Dollar Speedway, Carrick would get working as he looked for a spot inside the Top-10.

With the high side proving to be tricky, it would come back to bite Carrick on the 10th lap, as he would slide over the edge and get into the wall and bring his night to an early end.

“We are fast, and we are able to move forward and that is all I can ask for from my guys,” Carrick said. “If I limit mistakes, we will be okay. Definitely still learning, and driving against some talented guys.”

Blake Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Emerald, Timberworks Construction, and Arai for their continued support.

ON TAP: Blake Carrick is slated to travel to Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, CA this Friday and Saturday night.
