Blake Carrick Scores Another Top-10 at Silver Dollar Speedway

Updated: Jul 2, 2019

Continuing his first season at Silver Dollar Speedway, Blake Carrick continues to gain confidence and compete up front as the youngster from Lincoln, CA recorded a seventh place finish on Friday night before a 15th place finish on Saturday in Hanford, CA.

“Getting to continually compete in Chico, CA I feel like we are getting better and I think our results show that,” Blake Carrick said. “Getting to some of these places I haven’t really ran before, I struggle a little but it is all part of the process.”

Friday night at Silver Dollar Speedway, Blake Carrick timed the CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil backed No. 38B entry in 11th fastest in time trials, which was good enough to put him on the front row of his heat race.

Starting alongside veteran ace, Kyle Hirst, Carrick would get the jump and go on to win his heat. With the Silver Dollar Speedway format rewarding heat race winners, Carrick found himself on the front row of the 35-lap David Tarter Memorial feature event.

With a star studded field checked in on this night, Carrick would slip back a little as he raced with the likes of Colby Copeland, Andy Forsberg, and Kalib Henry. Keep his machine well inside the Top-10, Carrick would cap his night off with his fifth Top-10 finish of the season by way of a seventh place finish.

Saturday night saw the Carrick Motorsports team travel south to Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, CA as they went to battle with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour.

Timing in third fastest in his time trial group, Carrick would pick up a fourth place finish in his heat race that transferred him directly into the 30-lap feature event where he took the green flag from the 15th starting position.

On a rough and tumble racing surface, Carrick would do what he could to adapt and keep the rubber side down, which proved to be tough to do for some. Battling with fellow youngsters Kaleb Montgomery, Tucker Worth, and Kyle Offill, Carrick would cap his weekend with a 15th place finish.

“It was tricky on Saturday night,” Carrick added. “Thanks to all my guys for their hard work.”

Blake Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Emerald, Timberworks Construction, and Arai for their continued support.

ON TAP: Blake Carrick is set for another busy weekend in CA this week. At this time the team’s plan is not quite finalized.
