Friday Night Charge To 11th Highlights Blake Carrick’s Weekend

PETERSEN MEDIA: Two nights of racing action for Blake Carrick would see the youngster put on a very nice charge on Friday night at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA as he was able to advance from 21stto finish 11thduring the Tyler Wolf Memorial.

“Friday night we were really good in the feature and came forward really well,” Carrick said. “Saturday night we were doing the same thing, but we got dumped and then I had an issue with my throttle end our night early.”

Timing in 14thfastest during qualifications on Friday night, Carrick would slip back to finish fifth in his heat race and find himself in the ‘B’ Main. Able to pick up the win, Carrick would move to the feature where he took the green flag from the 21ststarting position.

From the back of the pack, Carrick would claw and scratch his way forward as passing would prove to be tough on the heavy and hooked up Silver Dollar Speedway surface. Doing a fine job of coming through the fray, Carrick would close his night out with an 11thplace finish.

Heading to Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, Carrick would time in 20thquick on this night, and again find himself in the ‘B’ Main. Racing into the final transfer position late in the race, Carrick would successfully transfer into the feature event.

Lining up scratch on the field and back in 20th, Carrick would pick up a handful of spots early and find himself up in 14thon the fifth lap when contact would send him into a spin cycle and bring out the yellow.

Going back to the tail end of the field, Carrick would get going again as he slowly worked his way up to 12thas he chased after the Top-10.

On the 12thlap, Carrick would have throttle issues and would come to a stop where he night would come to an end and he would officially be scored 18th.
