Continuing to go to battle with Van Dyke Motorsports, Blake Carrick had another good showing with the No. 5h team on Saturday night as the Lincoln, CA driver rallied from his 11th starting position and pick up a sixth place finish.
“We moved forward every time we hit the track, and in the feature we had a great car,” Blake Carrick said. “We got rolling later in the feature, and once we got into sixth we just ran out of laps.”
A total of 31 cars checked into Placerville Speedway on Saturday night as the schedule quickly comes to a close at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds facility. Timing in eight fastest in qualifying time trials, Carrick took the green flag from the second row in his heat race.
Needing a win to earn a spot in the redraw, Carrick battled up front before he ultimately settled for a fourth-place finish. Though unable to lock into the redraw, Carrick was solidly in the 25-lap feature event and took the green flag from the inside of the sixth row.
When the feature went green, Carrick went to work on the very slick conditions that were offered to the field on Saturday night. From the sixth row starting position, Carrick would make his way into the Top-10 as he battled with the likes of Jodie Robinson, Willie Croft, and Michael Pombo.
A mid-race yellow gave Carrick a chance to get out of traffic and make up some more ground as he battled with lead lap cars. Continuing to work his way forward, the Lincoln, CA driver sliced and diced his way into sixth just before the white flag was displayed to the field.
Chasing after Steven Tiner on the final lap, Carrick would come up just short of a spot inside the Top-5 as he accepted the checkered flag in sixth.
“Harley and Evan do a really good job, and we have been really strong the last few weeks,” Blake Carrick said. “I really want to thank them for continuing to race with me.”
Blake Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Emerald, Timberworks Construction, Hanson Truss, Eddie’s Lincoln Automotive, Kaeding Performance, and Arai for their continued support.
