Blake Carrick Continues To Collect Top-10’s

Blake Carrick continues to prove to be a quick study behind the wheel of a winged 360ci sprint car as he again tallied a Top-10 finish by way of an eighth place effort on Friday night at Ocean Speedway.

“It is pretty cool to start to string together good finishes,” Blake Carrick said. “I feel good, we are fast and now it is a mixture of making laps but also competing nightly.”

Carrick got his Friday night off to a great start as he timed the CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil No. 38 entry in fourth fastest in qualifying time trials. By way of his time trial effort, Carrick would line up in the second row of his heat race and go on to finish fourth.

Just missing out on a Dash berth, the Lincoln, CA youngster would line his machine up in the seventh starting position for the 30-lap tilt. Carrick would go a great job in the feature event as he raced with the likes of older brother, Tanner, Matthew Moles, and Cole Macedo at times as he stayed solidly inside the Top-10.

Carrick would hold his own all race long, and when the checkered flag flew he was came across the finish line with his third career Top-10 finish as he would be in the eighth position.

Saturday night Carrick and his team made the trip to Placerville Speedway where he would take on the 410ci King of the West Series a little underpowered as he would still have his 360ci power plant bolted in his entry.

Timing in 25th fastest in time trials, Carrick would race his way to a seventh place finish in his heat race and be forced into the ‘B’ Main for one final shot at qualifying for the 30-lap feature event.

Lining up 10th in the semi, Carrick would have to do a little work to get into a transfer position. Able to make some moves, the rookie driver was able to secure the seventh and final transfer position and put his 360 in the 410 feature event.

Taking the green flag from the 22nd starting position, Carrick would continue to do all he could on a Placerville Speedway that was fast in the early goings of the feature event on this night.

Being patient, Carrick would work his way forward and close his weekend out with a 15th place finish with the King of the West Series.

“I have to thank Clarke and everyone for all they do for me,” Carrick added. “It was good to run well, and then run okay against he 410’s. Looking forward to a little more level playing field at Placerville this weekend.”

Blake Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Emerald, Timberworks Construction for their continued support
