PETERSEN MEDIA: Getting back to 410ci action over the weekend in Hanford, CA, Blake Carrick would have a solid weekend as he picked up three Top-10 finishes in the three feature events he competed in.
“It was fun to get back in the 410ci and have a pretty good weekend after a tough Fall Nationals,” Blake Carrick said. “We ran well against some really good cars, so I was pleased with how things went.”
Carrick kicked a busy weekend at Keller Auto Speedway off on Friday night during the Cotton Classic by timing the CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil entry in second fastest in qualifying time trials.
Lining up fourth in his heat race, the Lincoln, CA driver would finish fourth and garner a berth into the Dash.
Pulling the six pill, Carrick would hang on and finish sixth and place himself in the third row for the Friday night Cotton Classic feature event. On a super slick racing surface, Carrick would keep his machine well inside the Top-10 as he battled with Kyle Hirst and Ryan Bernal.
When the 30-lap feature drew to a close, Carrick would accept the checkered flag with an eighth-place finish.
Returning to Keller Auto Speedway on Saturday night for the Morrie Williams Tribute that ran under KWS sanction, Carrick would get off to a bit of a slower start as he timed in 13th fastest on deteriorating track conditions.
Lining up fifth in his heat race, Carrick would put together a very impressive run as he worked his way up to second and earned another berth into the Sunnyvalley Bacon Dash.
Running fourth in the Dash, Carrick was set to take the green flag from the second row for the first of two 20-lap feature events.
Picking up a seventh-place finish in the first feature event, Carrick would line up 17th in the second race after the field was fully inverted off of their opening race finish.
Putting together a nice run through a stout field, Carrick would pick up another Top-10 finish as he was +10 in this race and took home another seventh-place finish.
“Happy to have made up a lot of ground in the second feature, and happy to log a ton of laps in the 410ci,” Carrick added.
Blake Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Emerald, Timberworks Construction, Kaeding Performance, and Arai for their continued support.
